Albinism is a recessive gene which affects your eyes, skin and hair since birth. It's a defect of melanin which results in little to no pigment in your skin.

Albinism may be passed down through families and may not be seen in all generations. It occurs when one of several genetic defects makes the body unable to produce melanin.
